Roy Smythe

Dr. Roy Smythe’s interest in artistic pursuits began at the soft edges of his first memories of his parents - the smell of his mother’s linseed oil in the corner of the bedroom where she worked on her oil paintings, and the strange but wonderful array of pencils, pens and rulers in his father’s tiny studio office drafting desk.  Over the course of his life, he has been a successful physician, scientist, entrepreneur and corporate executive.   He now draws pictures of whimsical robots he calls “roybotz” in an effort to illustrate, and answer, the question, “what will our intelligent technologies do when we are gone?”
